Choose Your Forwarding Style
Complete Call Forwarding
Sends every incoming call directly to your chosen number. Your landline won't ring - all calls go straight to Yobi.
Activate: *72
Deactivate: *73
Selective Call Forwarding
Forward only specific callers to Yobi while receiving all other calls normally on your landline.
Perfect for VIP customers
or after-hours emergencies
Activating Call Forwarding in 3 Steps
- 1
Dial *72 and Wait
Pick up your phone, dial *72, and listen for a stutter dial tone followed by a regular tone.
- 2
Enter Your Yobi Number
Dial your complete Yobi phone number where calls should be forwarded.
- 3
Confirm Activation
When Yobi answers (or you reach voicemail), hang up. Your forwarding is now active!
No answer or busy? Hang up and repeat all steps within 2 minutes. You'll hear a rapid busy tone when successful.
Turning Off Call Forwarding
Simple Deactivation
- 1. Pick up your phone and dial *73
- 2. Listen for 2 short tones, then a regular dial tone
- 3. That's it! Call forwarding is now off
Pro Tip: Not sure if forwarding is on? Dial *72. A rapid busy tone means it's active, a normal dial tone means it's off.
Good to Know
Outgoing Calls Still Work
You can make calls from your landline even with forwarding active. Only incoming calls are redirected.
Brief Ring Alert
Your original phone rings briefly each time a call is forwarded - this is normal.
Long Distance Charges
Forwarding to long distance numbers incurs standard charges. Ensure you have long distance service enabled.
Private Number Handling
If your number is private, dial *82 before *72 to unblock it for forwarding.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
Getting a Busy Signal?
This usually means your phone settings need adjustment:
- • Check that your phone is set to "tone" mode, not "pulse"
- • Look for a P/T switch on your phone's side, bottom, or back
- • If no physical switch exists, check your phone's setup menu
Forwarding Restrictions
You cannot forward calls to:
- • Hotels or motels
- • Pay phones
- • Prison facilities
Call Waiting Conflicts
If you have Call Waiting, forwarded calls bypass it entirely. The call goes straight to your forwarding destination without triggering Call Waiting alerts.
Can't Make Outgoing Calls?
If you can't make calls while forwarding is active, there's a service issue. Contact CenturyLink/Lumen support for assistance.
